So you’ve just cracked your interview at a company that you had been targeting after your graduation and are all excited to begin your corporate career. Here are six important qualities that are expected from you when you move into a new role or company and are looking to make a winning start to a long successful career.

Communication and commitment – your ability to clearly and politely articulate your views both verbally and in writing, ability to listen well and a high level of commitment, visible in all that you do, any task that is assigned and your approach towards everyday routine issues as well.

Honesty and integrity – your ability to do things that are right, ethical and as per the existing rules and norms. You would be expected to always place the interest of your organisation before your own.

Attitude of positivity – ability to take constructive criticism and being able to approach anyone with an open, positive mindset free of biases so as you get along well with the other people in the organisation and show that you are a good team player who can pull her / his weight.

Make mistakes – you are expected to make mistakes so long as you are not repeating them too often, learning from them and these mistakes have been committed while acting in good faith

Professional approach – following the correct workplace etiquettes, specific to the company culture code, dressing and behaving appropriately and always respecting others time and space.

Sponge like – you should be like a sponge, absorbing knowledge constantly by asking questions, having a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm for knowing more and being a quick learner and adopter.
